Basement Suite cleaned out over 5 trucks of garbage bottles and an engine

Basement Suite Jill n Rick cleaned out over 5 trucks of garbage bottles Jen n Rick took to Hartland and Nick n Collin pulled  out the engine and engine parts stashed under the plywood floor. Once it was cleaned out Nick n Collin lined it with 6 mil plastic and then sealed with concrete - with Wayne. Then Jill Jen n Rick insulated the floor and replaced the plywood n added vinyl planking. Dec 2017.

Found antique vents stashed as 'garbage' under the floor in the unfinished crawl space plus some antique door knob frames, and an engine!

 Nick n Collin lined with 6 mil plastic and then sealed with concrete base of the large rock in the crawl space.

Then we insulated the floor, and insulated the foundation, replaced the plywood with screws, then added vinyl planking to finish the flooring.

One thing i'd do differently ... the date of the concrete delivery was uncertain due to holidays plus snow storm making roads impassable so I was caught by surprise when the concrete truck called to say he was on his way and wish i'd quickly run door to door to let our neighbours to the west know the lane would be blocked. As it was, one neighbour had an appointment and was stuck waiting for the concrete to finish being poured - we offered to pay for a taxi to take them to the appointment as all of our vehicles were on the blocked side of the lane. We are super sorry for the inconvenience we caused. If we have a large delivery truck again, I'll be sure to let everyone on the lane know to minimize disruption.
